09 Apr Exclusive chance to get up close with the Randox Health Grand National trophy before the 2018 champion
Only one champion will be presented with it this year, but racegoers are being given an exclusive opportunity to have their photo taken with the Randox Health Grand National trophy before the race starts.
The trophy, which still has not been revealed in public, will be unveiled live on ITV on Champions Day by host Ed Chamberlin and legendary jockey and Randox Health ambassador Sir Anthony McCoy.
After this, racegoers will have a number of exclusive opportunities to see the sought-after prize before it is handed over to the winner on Saturday April 14th. It will be on display in the Randox Health Zone at various times on all three festival days.
Dr Peter FitzGerald, Managing Director of Randox Health, said; “It is without a doubt the people who come to Aintree each April who make the Randox Health Grand National. In our second year as sponsor, we want to recognise that support and so we’re delighted to bring the trophy to the public before the big race for the first time.”
Ed Chamberlin, the host of ITV Racing, commented; “After things didn’t quite go to plan at the unveiling of the weights for the 2018 Randox Health Grand National, I’m looking forward to making amends and revealing the new trophy for the first time live on ITV on the opening day of the meeting alongside Sir Anthony McCoy. It’s a beautiful creation.”
The trophy will be escorted by the Irish Guards, who traditionally guard the Royal Family. The Regiment, which wears the famous red tunic and bearskin cap, was established in 1900 and is renowned for its loyalty and grit.
A trophy schedule will be available on randoxhealth.com, and notifications will be shared on social media.
