Katie Walsh takes the lead on female health initiative at Aintree

Racing’s most successful female jockey is backing an initiative at this year’s Randox Health Grand National to encourage women to be more proactive about staying healthy.

Katie Walsh, who is vying this year to become the first female winner of the world’s greatest steeplechase on Baie Des Iles, knows first-hand the importance of looking after yourself.

Katie commented;

“Everyone wants to be healthy and well and live for as long as they can – for their families more so than anything else. If you can stay ahead of it – and we do now have the technology and the science to be one step ahead – why wouldn’t you? I can think of no better day than Ladies Day to start thinking about female health and what we can all do to look after ourselves.”

On Ladies Day, Randox Health – the UK’s leading health check provider – is giving race-goers the perfect opportunity to take control of their health, by offering an exclusive discount on the same health check which Katie had – the Everywoman programme.

Measuring 150 individual elements of the body, the Everywoman programme can not only give clients a comprehensive breakdown of their current health but, by harnessing the predictive capabilities of revolutionary and exclusive new tests, can identify the health conditions of which you are personally at risk in the future.

Managing Director of Randox Health, Dr Peter FitzGerald, said;

“Once a year, each of us take our car for an MOT, but unfortunately very few of us put the same time and care into our own bodies. Women are renowned for putting others before themselves but we want to put the focus back on them on Ladies Day.

“Being healthy and happy starts from within and we hope that this Everywoman promotion will encourage the style lovers of Ladies Day to place just as much importance on their current health and importantly, their future health, so they can continue to enjoy the special moments in life, like Ladies Day at the Randox Health Grand National.”

The Randox Health Everywoman package is a 12-month programme which begins with a consultation and health check, and includes expert advice to guide you through your own personalised health plan, and repeat testing to track how your health improves as you follow that advice.

The 10% discount card for the Randox Health Everywoman programme, which is valid for one month, is available to pick up in the Randox Health Zone at Aintree during Ladies Day. For those who have a personal health concern about which they would like to chat to a health expert, there is also a secluded space to talk privately.
